16mm and Super8 EXPIRED

Baltic Analog Lab invites for a two day workshop with Vytautas Juozėnas who will share his knowledge in shooting and processing expired soviet films produced by Orwo, Svema etc - films that are still possible to shoot and process in a very creative way.
During the workshop particpants will have a chance to learn shooting both on super8 as well as 16mm films, learn how to correctly expose and process them. Participants will have a chance shoot their own films which will be processed and screened at the lab.
Both black and white as well as colour expired films will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own films too.
Programme:
- Introduction to colour and black and white film material and its chemical aspects
- Introduction to expired colour and black and white film chemistry
- Shooting with 16mm and super8 film cameras
- Processing reversal films
- Projecting film on 16mm and super8 film projector
Vytautas is a filmmaker and artist from Vilnius who works with analog film and photography for many years – both working in the lab as well as teaching analog image making in workshops in Lithuania, Berlin and Latvia. His works have been shown in Lithuania and abroad. He is also a member of a film collective Sponge Studio. On his spare time he is making analog music synthesisers and speakers with his colleagues of Samopal Sound System.
