Baltic Analog Lab in collaboration with AVANT festival and artist-run space Glada Sprutan presents “SPECTRAL/Expanding North performances” – two audio-visual expanded cinema performance events taking place in Stockholm and Karlstad in Sweden September 2023. SPECTRAL/Expanding North performances is a series of events in Nordic and Baltic countries curated by Baltic Analog Lab – artist-run film lab and education center from Riga.
The series are happening within larger projects - SPECTRAL and Expanding North that unites artist-run film labs from Europe and Canada - WORM.Filmwerkplaats (Rotterdam, NL), Mire (Nantes, FR), Baltic Analog Lab (Riga, LV), LaborBerlin (Berlin, DE) Crater Lab (Barcelona, ES), Laia (Porto,PT), Filmverkstaden (FI), Polar Film Lab (NO), LIFT (CA). The project focuses on expanded analogue film art and offers creation, presentation and circulation of extended cinematic art projects in Europe throughout year 2022-2025.
