with artist-in residence Jacob Kessler
Baltic Analog Lab invites to an artist talk with our current artist-in residence - Jacob Kessler from Unied States.
Jacob’s artist talk will discuss his practice involving collaborative docufictions and representing experience through the material of celluloid. Several completed short films will be screened along with a series of tests completed during his residency for
an upcoming ecological film project. His main focus of this residency has been doing watergrams – a cameraless film technique that uses light flashes and water to create graphic images on a film surface.
Jacob Kessler is an American artist and educator working at the intersection of ethnographic documentary and experimental film. His work has been featured in festivals and platforms across the globe including Chicago Underground Film Festival (USA), Experimental Film Festival Process (Latvia), and NoBudge (streaming). His latest film Radio Jammer was awarded Best-in-Show at the 2024 Iowa City International Documentary Film Festival.
